State Rep. Palm Welcomes Bond Funds for Brainerd Memorial Library in Haddam

December 15, 2023

Rep. Palm welcomes bond funds for Brainerd Memorial Library in Haddam.

State Rep. Christine Palm (D-Chester) is pleased to announce that the State Bond Commission has approved a bond request of $380,000 for the Brainerd Memorial Library in Haddam. The funds will help with repairs and restoration, a redesign of the Children's Room, additional glass-enclosed meeting rooms, and an updated Circulation Desk.

"As libraries across our nation and here in Connecticut face increasing challenges to their autonomy, it is a great relief that our state has seen fit to support this historic, forward-looking cultural hub," said Rep. Palm. "I congratulate the Library Trustees, staff, and volunteers for their success in this project, and I am grateful to State Bond Commission Chair Rep. Ron Napoli and Gov. Ned Lamont, for their faith in this institution."

Brainerd Memorial Library strives to be a symbol of the town, a magnet for the community, and a gateway for all the world's information and knowledge. To learn more about the library, visit brainerdlibrary.org.
