I had the honor of attending two events in the community to commemorate Dr. King’s life with the community. We reflected on his legacy of justice, equality, and nonviolent resistance.

Organizers recognized 30 of the most talented Afro-Latinos in Connecticut who are 30 years old or younger! Three young women from Waterbury made the list!

I joined several of my colleagues on the Puerto Rican & Latino Caucus to discuss policy issues and possible solutions with constituents to help Puerto Ricans in Connecticut.

Even though the company that owns Waterbury Hospital has filed for bankruptcy protection, I assure you the hospital is open to patients, ready to serve the community, and will not close.

I joined advocates and some of my colleagues to urge Gov. Lamont to dedicate $33.5 million in the state budget to help with the homeless crisis.

The severe cold weather protocol will go into effect on Saturday at noon until Tuesday at noon as wintry conditions make their way to Connecticut. Connecticut is canceling $30 million dollars worth of medical debt.
