Thank you to everyone who attended the Danbury Meet and Greet earlier this week. We had a productive conversation about several topics, including electric costs and funding for both public education as well as public universities. During his budget address, Governor Lamont briefly touched upon the importance of free school meals.

The state’s severe cold weather protocol went into effect on Sunday. It will remain in effect through noon on Friday, January, 24th. During this period, temperatures are expected to remain below freezing throughout the daytime hours, and overnight temperatures are anticipated to drop into the single digits and possibly below zero.

The Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) has created a helpful graphic that includes details and contact information for various resources, including Husky Health and the fraud hotline.

On Wednesday, I was sworn in at the State Capitol on the first day of the 2025 legislative session in Hartford. I am honored to serve another term and look forward to another successful session!

A number of new laws that were passed during the 2024 legislative session will go into effect Wednesday, January 1.

Exciting news!

Since its launch, Connecticut’s Head Start on Housing pilot program has housed 144 families consisting of 317 children. Specifically, 85 school-aged children and 232 Head Start/Early Head Start aged children have been housed.
