Swearing in at the State Capitol

January 8, 2025

Today, with my wife Heather in attendance, I was sworn in at the state Capitol to serve my fourth term representing the 27th District. While it was my fourth time, it never gets old.

I have never been more excited, humbled and honored to represent the residents of Newington and New Britain. I am your tireless advocate at the Capitol and will continue to fight for you and our community.

Earlier this week, I hosted a legislative town hall with state Sen. Matthew Lesser and state Rep. Kate Farrar at the Lucy Robbins Welles Library in Newington.
The robust discussion ranged from energy prices to housing to potential aid in dying legislation.

I continue to encourage Newington residents to contact me about the questions, comments and concerns. As you know, we’ve got a lot of work to do to continue to grow our economy while reducing the cost of living, and maintaining vital services in our community. Please take this survey to help me prioritize the advocacy for the district.

I've also listed below a number of tools for people to stay informed and follow along this legislative session.

Stay Informed
My colleagues and I will tackle numerous important issues over the next five months.

The online resources available for Connecticut residents make it easier than ever to follow along, get involved and stay informed with the legislative process in Hartford.

Here's how you can stay connected and actively participate:

  • The Office of Legislative Research (OLR) provides nonpartisan and unbiased research to members of the General Assembly and their staff. Part of their duties include writing bill analyses, which are summaries of bills in plain language. Click here to check out its website.
  • You can view the Connecticut General Assembly's upcoming events on its schedule on the CGA official website
  • Follow CT-N for live coverage of committee meetings, as well as House and Senate floor debates.
  • You can register to monitor any bill's journey as it goes through the legislative process. By signing up, you can enter the bill number and receive real-time updates. Stay informed with email notifications whenever there's a change in the bill's progress.
  • Visit this website for information on how to testify on a bill at a public hearing.

Together, we can ensure all voices are heard.
