I was back in the Capitol chambers on Wednesday for a session to vote on several appointments. My colleagues and I have plans for additional sessions this month, with things really ramping up in May.
Our work continues on such pivotal issues such as reducing the costs of energy, childcare, special education and housing.
I will provide updates to these issues, as well as others, as they come down the pike. |

For years I've been working on a way to fund universal school meals, and HB7273 offers a solution.
There is a public hearing before the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee on Monday, April 14, at 11 a.m. on HB7273, a bill I co-sponsored which would tax some sweetened beverages, syrups and powders. The revenue generated from that tax would go toward funding the universal free school meals program.
You can register to testify and find more details in this week’s CGA Bulletin. cga.ct.gov/asp/CGABulletin/Bulletin.asp *Reminder - you only need to register if you wish to provide testimony. You can tune in to watch the proceedings live on the committee’s YouTube channel. |

March was Women's History Month. As you can see below, we were busy recognizing the amazing women in our communities.
While it was an honor to do that, it's more important to keep the momentum going by working on passing legislation to close the gender wage gap, protect women's reproductive health and fund programs that improve child and family care. |
