The legislative session is heating up in Hartford. This week, the House of Representatives convened three times (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) to vote on legislation we've been crafting and debating for months. One of the bills I had the opportunity to bring out on the House Floor as the House Chair of the Veterans' and Military Affairs Committee was the Connecticut Hero Act, which passed with unanimous support. This legislation now moves to the Senate.

Encouraging Homeownership

Three new state housing programs are designed to help increase homeownership opportunities throughout Connecticut.

The state is investing $30 million into the new "CT Home Funds" program to provide qualifying residents and developers with grants and loans for home improvement, rehabilitation as well as new construction.

Homeownership is not only a life goal of working families, but it helps create stable and strong communities.
