One year ago today, I was officially sworn in as your State Representative. 2021 was another unpredictable year, but I am proud of everything I was able to achieve during session as well as during the off season.

As the year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment and reflect on some the accomplishments of 2021. As a first time representative, there was a lot to learn about the process. However, I did not let that stop me from advocating for you every step of the way. I pushed for legislation that would benefit the 57th District in committee and on the floor.

I have received more information on how the masks and at home tests allocated to our district will be distributed.

The shipment of tests kits that were set to arrive in Connecticut have been delayed. It is unclear if distributions will occur as planned, but I will make sure to provide an update as soon as we have more information.  

In anticipation of the upcoming legislative session, I am hosting a series of office hours to listen to any suggestions, questions or concerns from residents of the 57th district. There will be three, subject specific sessions. Please check out the links below to register.

I am pleased to announce that Connecticut's landmark Paid Family and Medical Leave Program applications are now being accepted for Connecticut residents who want to participate in the state’s program. Claims are being accepted for qualifying events that are happening on or after January 1, 2022.

Tonight at 6:30, I will host a discussion on farms and farmers. I will be joined by a group of agricultural leaders - Nathan Wilson, the Acting State Executive Director of FSA CT, Alex Sereno, the Regional Director of RMA, and Tom Morgart, a State Conservationist from NRCS.

On November 30, I will join Dr. Sandra Chafouleas and Dr. Julian Ford for a discussion on children's mental health. We will focus on a wide range of topics, such as child trauma and trauma-informed organizations, information on funding for the programs associated in schools, and recommendations for CT policy and programming in the future.
