Yesterday, the House unanimously passed HB 5001, An Act Concerning Children’s Mental Health. I was proud to serve as a member of the small, bi-partisan working group that developed and refined the seventy-three section bill.

As May quickly approaches, I wanted to alert you to a few opportunities happening during Mental Health Awareness Month.

Here is information about safety on our roadways, the CT Department of Transportation Capitol Plan request for public input, COVID Booster Clinics this week, the Renter’s Rebate Program, and the next Fairfield Business Roundtable.

I was proud to champion the bill that allows our restaurants to continue their enhanced outdoor dining for another 13 months.

This past Tuesday was Vietnam Veterans Day. As the wife, daughter, and granddaughter of Veterans, I am committed to providing the supports and resources needed for our veterans’ mental health and wellness.

Over the past 6 weeks, the committee process has been in full swing. I am grateful for your input and ideas shared through public hearings, e-mails, phone calls and my favorite, in person conversations.

This Friday, there are two hearings I would like to highlight, the Planning and Development Committee and the Joint Public Health and Children’s Committee hearing on children’s mental health.

Together with Representative Leeper I am happy to re-start something we had done a few years back, a Youth Advisory Council.
