As we prepare for this year’s Thanksgiving, I wanted to reach out with gratitude for all of you.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend and have the opportunity for some respite, and perhaps even some time in the great outdoors.

There are a number of important community events coming up this weekend to add to your calendar.

Monday, state Representative Cristin McCarthy Vahey (D-Fairfield) joined Governor Ned Lamont, Jennifer Homendy, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Office of Highway Safety, and AAA to announce that beginning today, October 1, 2021, Connecticut law will now require all passengers to buckle up, regardless of where they are positioned in the vehicle.

Today marks the end of National Suicide Prevention Month and National Recovery Month. Though we highlight these issues during September, these are things we work on together all year.
