This month was filled with extreme and deadly weather events worldwide- including here in Connecticut. I will continue to take action and fight to pass legislation that protects our state's environment and citizens.

New Laws Effective July 1st
June 28, 2023A number of new laws, that my colleagues and I worked on during the 2023 legislative session to implement meaningful change in our state, will take effect in Connecticut on July 1.
The Budget We Passed Promotes Fiscal Stability & Responsibility
June 7, 2023After months of negotiations, the House of Representatives delivered a state budget that includes the largest income tax cut in the state’s history and significant increases in funding for local schools, also known as Education Cost Sharing (ECS) funds.
Rep. McGee Applauds Passage of Theater Tax Credit Legislation
June 6, 2023State Rep. Treneé McGee (D-West Haven) applauds the passage of the theater tax credit legislation included in the biennium budget for fiscal years 2024-2025. The legislation will provide a 30% tax credit to Broadway touring productions.

Connecticut Receives Credit Rating Upgrade From Kroll
May 23, 2023Connecticut just received an upgraded credit rating from the Kroll Bond Rating Agency, which means that our General Obligation bond credit rating was upgraded from AA (stable) to AA+ (stable), just one step below the highest credit rating possible!
The House of Representatives Passed Early Voting
May 5, 2023Connecticut voters asked the legislature for more voting options through a constitutional amendment on early voting that they overwhelmingly approved, and we are answering the call.
