Last year at this time, we were starting our "long session." The pomp and pageantry of the day (January 4) turned to grief overnight as we learned of the tragic passing of our friend and colleague, Quentin "Q" Williams. I grieve for what he could've become in his political and professional careers. I grieve for his widow Carrissa and his family. And I miss my friend. 

The Black and Puerto Rican Caucus is seeking input from you - we want to hear your concerns and suggestions about issues concerning Black and Latino communities in the state.

As we ring in the new year, there are some laws that become effective on January 1 that were passed during the 2023 legislative session addressing key issue areas including early voting, health and mental health, and online privacy and data protection.

Connecticut is offering a wonderful new program that will make applying for higher education much easier - and less expensive - for graduating high school students.

Rep. Paris will be presented with the "20 Under 40 Leadership Award" at the 2023 CSG National Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina in December.
