    Taking Strong Action on Climate Change

    The urgency of doing everything we can to protect our fragile environment is profound. We are seeing climate change's devastating effects all across our state, nation, and world, so we owe it to ourselves and future generations to take meaningful action now.

    That is why Connecticut, under a new executive order, is taking 23 specific steps to reduce our carbon footprint, protect our natural resources, and increase our reliance on affordable clean energy in ways which promote equity, justice, and health.

    Great Meadow Marsh Project

    The Great Meadow Marsh project will restore significantly degraded coastal marsh habitat and result in improved wildlife habitat. I am very pleased to know that as part of this project, Audubon Connecticut will seek to employ youth from the Bridgeport / Stratford area to help educate people about the benefits this project will bring to our community.

    Honoring late State Rep. Terry Backer

    October 27, 2021

    Earlier this month, we honored the life and work of late State Rep. Terry Backer by renaming a stretch of Route 113 in Stratford the "State Representative Terrance E. Backer Memorial Highway".

    We were honored to be joined by members of Rep. Backer's family, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, and former colleagues and advocates who worked with him.
