This year's Legislative Session started off with a tremendous loss. We leaned on each other and found ways to smile while fighting for the citizens of Connecticut. I hope we made you proud, Q.

Big thanks to Save A Suit & Max Cares Foundation for coming out to collect donations of professional attire that will be donated and given to veterans. We collected over 250 Suits, shirts shoes ties etc that can now be used to give veterans a little relief. Thank you also to State Representative Dorinda Borer and State Representative Kurt Vail for all their help and guidance.

As we look around the world this week, we are reminded again that freedom comes at a great cost. Throughout our history, brave Americans have stepped forward to defend our liberties — willing to pay the price to keep our country safe.

It was great to attend the Mitchell College Commencement Ceremony this week City of New London, Connecticut with State Representative Christine Conley and City Councilor Efrain Dominguez. Big thanks to Dr. Tracy Y. Espy President of Mitchell College and her administration, faculty and staff for all they did to make this a success for students.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced a temporary no-cost shuttle will provide transportation services crossing the Southbound span of the Gold Star Memorial Bridge. This service will allow pedestrians and bicyclists to cross the bridge while the sidewalk is closed for evaluation, testing, and repair.

The people of Connecticut spoke loud and clear through the constitutional amendment on early voting. Today we honor your voice. Early voting has passed the House of Representatives and is headed to the Senate.

On Tuesday, we had a great press conference advocating for increased funding for Husky up to age 18. We had several and speakers that advocated for healthcare funding increase. Big "Shout Out" to our Intern Jhoselyn Diaz and CEC Arianna Tsikitas, who worked tirelessly to contact attendees and make it possible for us to advocate. I recognize them for their hardworking drive to help our office shine and succeed.

Lets make so much difference that no one is treated different. This week I met with advocates in regards to fighting for change for HUSKY expansion. Lets fight to make that change.
