Applications for New Paid Family & Medical Leave Program to be Accepted Starting January

December 6, 2021

It is with a combination of relief, joy and pride that I announce that the State's Family and Medical Leave program is up-and-running, and will begin accepting applications for claims right after the New Year. 
 
In my former role with the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women, I was part of a team working to lay the foundation for this life-altering program. To see it bear fruit, after seven years of advocacy, feels miraculous!

Once again, I find myself having to write about the Covid pandemic. Despite the relief we felt when the long winter finally yielded to the spring and to the optimism the vaccine brought, we are, once again, entering a time of uncertainty. Middlesex County is no longer considered in the “safe” zone, and our hospitals are again being overburdened.
