As a newly elected representative, it is important to meet as many residents as I can in Wilton, Ridgefield, and New Canaan as well as conduct my work in Hartford.

I'm making a big effort to meet more of you as the legislative session rolls on. In the coming days, I will be part of two community discussions with fellow lawmakers in the 42nd district.

I'm continuing to advocate for a more environmentally friendly Connecticut as we move forward this legislative session. One of my top priorities right now is protecting our air, trees, and wilderness.

I am proud to support our youth in the 42nd district and the rest of Connecticut. On Thursday, we voted unanimously to invest in our schools and that money will go a long way in Wilton, New Canaan, and Ridgefield.

I met Congressman Jim Himes last week to announce a $200,000 federal grant to redevelop the Georgetown Wire Mill in nearby Redding.

Official recognition of Black History Month started with a proclamation from President Gerald Ford 47 years ago, to honor the many accomplishments and contributions Black Americans have made to American society.

Extreme cold weather is expected in the coming days across the state. It is important to be mindful that with it brings increased risks to ourselves and our communities.
