March 15, 2023Governor Ned Lamont has directed the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) to extend the coverage period for households receiving deliverable fuel assistance under the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) during the 2022-2023 winter season to March 31, 2023.
Critical Benefits Coming To an End
February 24, 2023Very soon, there will be changes for some of our most vulnerable individuals and families who are on Medicaid. Starting on April 1, the COVID-19 public health emergency protection will be coming to an end. Medicaid enrollees who were continuously covered will again have to provide proof of eligibility to continue getting benefits.

In Loving Memory of our Friend Q Williams
January 5, 2023Today we woke to tragic news. Connecticut lost State Representative Quentin Williams (or "Q" as we called him) last night. He was a champion for Middletown and Connecticut and had just yesterday been sworn in and appointed House Chair of the Labor and Public Employees Committee. We are overcome with disbelief and heartbreak and are sending love and prayers to his family.

House Special Session
November 29, 2022With many families in Connecticut facing added financial strain due to rising prices, the legislature went into special session earlier this week to provide some relief. A bipartisan bill passed by the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Lamont extends the current suspension of the gasoline tax, provides additional funding for energy assistance programs, and continues premium pay for frontline workers.
