It's been another busy week of passing bills to help those in need and to ensure everyone can live comfortable and healthy lives.

Veterans put their lives on the line for our country and, as a small way to say “thank you for your service,” the House of Representatives unanimously passed a bill that would support Veterans who have been disabled during service.

We approved a deal between the state and Personal Assisted Care (PAC) workers to increase their wages in a historic manner. PACs sacrifice so much to ensure our elderly, disabled, and others are comfortable and safe.

The return of the Household Bulk Trash Pickup Program has been announced for Bridgeport. You'll be able to discard large items like furniture and appliances that are usually difficult to discard of.

Today, we approved $17 million in additional cold weather heating assistance funds – many residents and families who receive assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) or Operation Fuel will have access to funds to ensure they can heat their homes through the cold weather season.
