The Connecticut Department of Transportation, Metro-North Railroad, and Amtrak have announced that, to support critical high tower cable removal at the WALK Bridge Project in Norwalk, Metro-North and Amtrak trains will run on modified schedules with reduced service between New Haven and New York along the New Haven Line on select weekends, beginning September 12 through November 1.

Governor Lamont and CT State Department of Education Commissioner Charlene Russell-Tucker announced that 41 special education programs in the state will receive a total of $10.6 million in state grants under the first round of Connecticut’s newly established High-Quality Special Education Incentive Grant Program.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (CTDOT) Office of Engineering is developing plans for Project 0173-0561, which will include installing video detection, replacing controllers and cabinets, and installing communication equipment to integrate the signals into ATMS-now software and to implement Automated Traffic Signal Performance Measures (ATSPMs) in the future to improve intersection operations and safety in District 3.

On Monday, I joined Governor Lamont, Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro, Mayor David Chess, the Stratford Delegation, and members of the Stratford Town Council, at a groundbreaking ceremony in Stratford to mark the start of construction on TIME-1, the largest component to date of TIME FOR CT, a comprehensive, multi-year initiative to rebuild, improve, and expand Connecticut’s rail network.
