PURA Written Testimony

On August 7, 2020, the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) opened an investigation into the performance of Eversource Energy and the United Illuminating Company during Tropical Storm Isaias. An important step in this investigation is for PURA to receive comments from the public and elected officials. PURA has scheduled three days of public comment hearings on October 21, 22, and 23. The hearings will take place using the Zoom platform and the registration information can be found here:

All public comments will become part of the record, whether provided in writing or provided orally during the hearings, and will be reviewed by PURA staff and commissioners as part of the evidence in this proceeding. Although PURA reviews and considers all public comments submitted to the record, as a quasi-judicial tribunal, PURA cannot respond to these public comments during the course of the proceeding. Further, PURA does not have the staffing resources available to individually respond to all public comments, but rather strives to incorporate questions and comments posed by the public in its consideration of the material and in any decisions issued in the docket.

Please share your experiences during the Tropical Storm by completing this form that will automatically email PURA.
