I hope your 4th of July was wonderful and that today you are staying cool and breathing well in the midst of the heat and air quality alerts. It has been a bit since you have had an e-mail from me, and I am glad to be back with the help of a new team working with me to communicate with all of you.

As usual, I want to let you know about a number of wonderful programs and a events. First up is a coffee and conversation this Sunday at Crown Café with Representative Marcus Brown

As we see the flowering trees in full bloom and hear the birds return, I wanted you to know about a few community opportunities.

There are a number of upcoming events and programs - two of which are tonight - that provide helpful resources and insight in the community. Congratulations are also in order for Holland Hill Principal, Molly Farrell.

Today, Senate Bill 9, which is designed to enhance access to physical, mental and behavioral health care, and if passed would work to fight the impacts of the opioid and fentanyl crisis, became one step closer to becoming law as the Public Health Committee voted to advance it.

There are a number of upcoming events and programs that provide helpful resources, or are just a great way to get out and active with friends and family.

Here at the Capitol, March is full of Public Hearings and Committee meetings to vote on bills.

Connecticut continues to face a crisis-level shortage of workforce and affordable housing.
