It is my pleasure to share some good news today, to invite you to join Rep. Leeper and me tomorrow night for a conversation on criminal justice, and share a brief radio interview I did last week with WICC’s Melissa Sheketoff on the Surgeon General’s Youth Mental Health Advisory.

State Representatives Jennifer Leeper (D-Fairfield, Southport), Cristin McCarthy Vahey (D-Fairfield) and Laura Devlin (R-Fairfield, Trumbull), and State Senator Tony Hwang (R-Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Weston, Westport) announced today that the $1.5 million state bonding request for the purchase and renovation of a new Operation Hope facility in Fairfield has been placed on the state's bonding commission's agenda by the Governor.

As we prepare for this year’s Thanksgiving, I wanted to reach out with gratitude for all of you.

There are a number of important community events coming up this weekend to add to your calendar.

Monday, state Representative Cristin McCarthy Vahey (D-Fairfield) joined Governor Ned Lamont, Jennifer Homendy, chair of the National Transportation Safety Board the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Office of Highway Safety, and AAA to announce that beginning today, October 1, 2021, Connecticut law will now require all passengers to buckle up, regardless of where they are positioned in the vehicle.

Today marks the end of National Suicide Prevention Month and National Recovery Month. Though we highlight these issues during September, these are things we work on together all year.
