In Connecticut, median annual pay for a woman who holds a full-time, year-round job is $50,706 while median annual pay for a man who holds a full-time, year-round job is $60,385.

I was proud to host "Have a Harc Day" at the Legislative Office Building.  Harc participants, families and Harc staff joined us for a roundtable discussion on the important programs and services Harc provides.

It was a joy to speak with CT radio legend Brad Davis and Dan LoVallo. Brad and Dan may have been the first ones in the Capitol today....they were live at 5am!

Hundreds our constituents with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families came to the State Capitol for the Arc Connecticut’s 4th Annual Family Hearing Day to advocate for their full inclusion and participation in their communities.

The House of Representatives approved an agreement between the executive branch and state employee bargaining units that will help stabilize the state’s long term pension payment obligations.

I was happy to be part of the conversation this week on funding local education with Educators for Excellence. Thank you to all the teachers who are speaking out to help create change.

I joined the CBIA Manufacturers' Advisory Board for their meeting this morning...it was a great conversation that I hope to continue. We talked about healthcare, regulations...and very importantly, training the next generation of manufacturers.

The UConn Hartford Bookstore will be opening on Front Street in August. What a powerful announcement for Hartford, Connecticut and CT...The economic and cultural impact is huge. It will be a large Barnes & Noble College with a Starbucks café.
