Rep. Santiago Lauds Sikorsky Deal
September 28, 2016Meriden area lawmakers are pleased the General Assembly has approved a deal that Sikorsky Aircraft, which has made its home in Stratford since 1929, will remain here until at least 2032. “This mutually beneficial agreement between the state and a major company like Sikorsky will have a positive economic impact across the state, including Meriden’s suppliers,” Rep. Hilda Santiago (D-Meriden) said. “It is encouraging to see the state working together and finding solutions to create and keep jobs in Connecticut.”

Brownfield Funding Welcoming News
January 20, 2016Governor Malloy just announced that Meriden will be awarded a $100,000 grant to develop plans for remediating and developing clusters of brownfield sites. This effort will not only enhance our community, but will help generate revenue. Meriden is one of six communities receiving brownfield remediation in this round of grants.
