The Economic Impact of Early Childcare
April 8, 2019As a longtime early childhood advocate I am encouraged by the conversations we are having in Hartford addressing the economic impact of early childcare. Our policies must be focused on supporting families with young children through an approach that looks also at the dollars and cents involved in children’s success. Here are some of my thoughts on this issue.

February 1, 2019I am excited to join my colleagues on the bi-partisan Bioscience Caucus to work together with advocates and industry experts finding sound policies that will support and encourage growth in one of the strongest business industries in the state. I look forward to my first session and exploring options that will make a long lasting impact in our efforts to strengthen our long and short-term goals.
Comey Backs local Citizen Science Project at Johnson's Beach
February 1, 2019I am excited to announce and support a local project seeking to improve the quality of the water at Johnson’s Beach located in the Short Beach neighborhood. This project has been launched under the direction of the East Shore District Health Department (ESDHD) with the support of the Town of Branford, The Civic Association of Short Beach, and Yale University’s School of Public Health.

Resources Available For Federal Employees
January 17, 2019The impact on federal employees from the prolonged government shutdown is increasingly affecting the livelihood of over 1,500 Connecticut residents and their families. Each additional day they work for no pay - child care, mortgages, food and car payments, to name a few, are falling behind and there is no indication for when paychecks will resume.
