September 27, 2022This is reminder that if you or someone you know is elderly or disabled and currently renting housing, the Connecticut’s Renters’ Rebate Program deadline to apply is fast approaching.
Absentee Ballot Changes
September 9, 2022New voting laws passed last year make it easier to vote absentee by ensuring availability of drop boxes, allowing voters with temporary disabilities and chronic illnesses to automatically receive absentee ballots, allowing absentee voters with visual impairment to receive a ballot electronically, as well as other provisions.

Insurance Companies are Proposing a Rate Hike
August 10, 2022Insurance companies have requested that the Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) approve a rate increase by an average of 20.4% for plans starting in 2023, a steep spike from the 8.6% average rate increase request for 2022. Insurers claim this proposed hike is a result of the rising costs of healthcare and pharmaceuticals, but it comes at a time when we are already facing the highest inflation rates in 40 years.
Route 146 DOT Traffic Safety Study & Recommendations Released
August 3, 2022After getting input from local residents about some of their safety concerns regarding traffic on heavily travelled Route 146, state Senator Christine Cohen (D-Guilford) and state Representative Robin Comey (D-Branford) today expressed optimism with the state Department of Transportation’s newly released road safety audit of a portion of Route 146 and their proposals for several safety-related road improvements.
