June 18, 2025With the 2025 Legislative Session over, I'm going to use these updates to highlight a piece of legislation that we passed along with a brief explainer.

May 23, 2025As of today, we less than two weeks left until the end of session. Each day, we continue to debate legislation and some bills have been approved by the House and are headed to the Senate for passage.
This week, we passed workers’ compensation legislation that, had we not acted, would have resulted in a potential 265% increase in workers’ compensation benefits, which would have cost Connecticut businesses millions of dollars. We also approved legislation to cover the Medicaid shortfall that occurred in the current budget. Like many other expenses we are required to pay, covering the cost of this shortfall is critical to future budgets.

But I invited the student management team of HuskyTHON to the start of the legislative session on Wednesday, recognizing its remarkable work for Connecticut Children's Hospital, the only health system in Connecticut entirely focused on pediatric health and wellbeing.
