Understanding Gender Pronouns

June 29, 2021

Respecting pronouns isn't just polite - it is suicide prevention. As of 2020, around 28% of U.S. transgender and nonbinary youth who reported that no one respected their pronouns attempted suicide in the past year, compared to 12% of youth who reported that all or most people around them respected their pronouns.

CT Humanities Grants

I am excited to announce that legislature has passed a budget that allocates over $30 million to the Connecticut Humanities (CTH) over the next two years. 
 
This funding assists the arts and culture industry as it recovers from the pandemic, provides support for upgrading technology and expanding digital programming and better connects K-12 students to the arts and humanities.

Stamford School Summer Meals

June 24, 2021

Now that school is out, it is critical that our community continues to support the students who receive meals throughout the school year. I am excited to know that the Stamford Public Schools (SPS) will participate in the federally funded Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Under the SFSP, nutritious meals are provided free of charge to children 18 years and under at the following sites:

All sites serve breakfast & lunch meals, every Wednesday
