Connecticut State Department of Education to Host Webinar

The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) will host a webinar on Jan. 31 from 5-6 p.m. to discuss its current goals and investments for the future. Topics include federal funding investments, initiatives currently underway, and more. State Commissioner of Education, Charlene M. Russell-Tucker, will also answer questions submitted prior to the event.

The webinar is open to everyone — students, parents, and members of the education community and public — and will be livestreamed on YouTube and CT-N.

I want to call your attention to a dynamic new partnership that is set to help Waterbury's high school students realize their college promise.
 
The City of Waterbury, under Mayor Neil O'Leary, Waterbury Board of Education and Superintendent of Waterbury Public Schools Verna Ruffin have teamed up to create and launch the Waterbury Promise Scholarship.

This partnership affirms Waterbury's commitment to students pursuing higher education by removing the financial barriers they and their families face as part of the decision-making process.
