Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) will hold public hearings on the performance of Eversource Energy and United Illuminating during Tropical Storm Isaias - this week and they need to hear your experience.

The House of Representatives concluded a one-day Special Session early Thursday morning that included some important accomplishments I am sharing with you below. We not only took action on the most transformative Energy reform legislation on utility rates in a decade, but voted on other critical measures that I would like to highlight.

Connecticut will move into Phase 3 of its reopening plan on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

Just in time for back-to-school shopping, the state's annual Sales Tax-Free Week is starting this Sunday, August 16 through next Saturday, August 22.

This past week since Tropical Storm Isaias has hit our community, we have had significant power outages that affected everyone, but especially the medically fragile, the elderly, children with special needs and babies. I have been working hard to get the attention of Eversource and get more crews to resolve the number of outages, prioritizing those who are most vulnerable. I have also been reaching out about the rate increase and I am glad we are expanding this conversation.

Our state has been devastated by Tropical Storm Isaias, causing over 700,000 power outages across Connecticut, prompting Governor Ned Lamont Wednesday to apply for an emergency declaration from the federal government. The declaration was approved and allows Connecticut to request direct federal assistance to bolster its response.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that milling & resurfacing will be performed on Route 106 at Farm Road to the end of the Route 106/124 overlap at Main Street in New Canaan.
