“There’s great interest,” said state Rep. Bobby Gibson, D-Bloomfield, vice chairman of the Black and Puerto Rican Caucus, who has pushed for the flights. “It’s desperately needed. Connecticut has the fifth largest population of people from the Jamaican diaspora in the United States.”

State Rep. Geraldo Reyes (D-Waterbury) and State Rep. Bobby Gibson (D-Bloomfield, Windsor) joined Gov. Ned Lamont, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Commissioner Katie Dykes, House and Senate colleagues, and environmental advocates on Tuesday in Bloomfield for a bill signing that sets up Connecticut to mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis by decarbonizing the electric sector and expanding existing renewable energy programs.

This is a transformational opportunity to invest in underserved communities in Connecticut through economic development and small business, education, and infrastructure projects.

CT continues to be plagued by car accidents caused by wrong-way drivers.
