Some things transcend what we tackle in our day-to-day lives.

Last week we came together to honor our Vietnam veterans and reflect on the Moving Wall’s arrival in Danbury back in 2012. Too many of these heroes never received the recognition they deserved when they returned home.

Join me today in pausing to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who were prisoners of war and those who are still missing in action.

What a great week to celebrate our diversity and my heritage.

It’s heartbreaking to share that the Costa Family’s Brazas Market & Churrasqueira has been forced to close for the foreseeable future after a devastating Aug. 31 fire.

A couple of incidents in Connecticut, one at the Danbury courthouse, the other involving my good friend and colleague Rep. Corey Paris, concerning ICE and immigration enforcement that have me asking two questions: Who are we? Who do we want to be?

I was honored to celebrate Ecuador’s 216th Independence Day last week with a flag raising at Heritage Plaza, alongside my good friend and Mayor for the Day, Wilson Aurelio Hernández, whose dedication to our community is unmatched.

The progress that Danbury has made can be measured in a number of ways. From a view of 30,000 feet, for example, the city is receiving record funding from the state to the tune of millions of dollars, which is being invested in our infrastructure and schools.
