I started Wednesday morning standing alongside mayors, superintendents, faith leaders, education advocates, and students calling for stronger investment in public education through an increased Education Cost Sharing formula.

I want to update you on a bill I will be testifying on next week, Raised Bill 5275, An Act Concerning a Contractor’s Responsibility for Unpaid Wages on a Construction Contract.

As many of you know, I got my start in public office serving on the Danbury Board of Education.

Danbury’s House delegation kicked off the first day of session by welcoming our city’s biggest advocate, Mayor Roberto Alves. 

I’ve shared this before, but I feel compelled to share it again. This is not normal, and it should not be normalized. What we are witnessing should stop this country in its tracks. This is now the second life lost at the hands of ICE in Minneapolis. No matter how it is explained after the fact, the reality is painfully clear: another human life has been taken.
