This weekend is the 250th birthday of our country and our democracy.

As we celebrate the 4th of July, we honor the courage, vision, and sacrifices of those who founded our nation, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. This historic milestone invites us to reflect on our shared heritage, celebrate the hard fought freedoms we enjoy, and reaffirm our commitment to the American ideals of liberty, equality, and opportunity.

On this Independence Day, let us come together in gratitude, patriotism, and declare a renewed commitment to protecting and upholding the ideals of our democracy. 🇺🇸

Happy first week of Summer! Next week is America’s 250th Birthday. I hope you’re able to reflect, participate, and celebrate at local events here in Stratford. Starting next week, please be aware that over 80 new laws will take effect on Wednesday, July 1st. This includes Public Act 26-12, the comprehensive workforce legislation (HB5003) that passed during the 2026 session, which I proudly co-sponsored and worked on to expand protections for CT workers.

Happy Juneteenth! What a week! It’s always great when I am able to fulfill my State Representative duties here in Stratford. It was wonderful to see and hear from so many of you at local events and community meetings this past week.

It was another busy week here in the district, where I had the opportunity to attend and meet with several local Stratford organizations, residents, and groups.

It was a productive week, celebrating Pride Month here in Stratford, attending press conferences on investments in essential programs for our residents, like early childhood education and SNAP, and a bill signing for legislation on AI. In this week's email, you can read more about additional funding for SNAP, a historic investment in early childhood education, undue medical debt eliminated for thousands of residents, and more.

I hope you and your family had a meaningful Memorial Day Weekend. This week, I spent time at several events around Stratford honoring our local veterans.

I hope this message finds you well! It was very busy in the district this week, meeting with Stratford community members, organizations, and businesses. One of my favorite parts of my job as your state representative is meeting with people to listen, learn and discuss issues that are important to them. I had the opportunity to meet with Sikorsky Leadership, High School students, Wooster Middle School Health Haven Clinic staff, Eli Elementary School, and more.
