Women's History Month & Essay Contest
March 7, 2022In celebration of Women's History Month, State Reps. Tammy Exum, Kate Farrar and I are sponsoring an essay contest for students at Hall High School and Conard High School. Our hope is that this essay contest will provide the opportunity for students to recognize and reflect on women's achievements and how we are better because of them.

49th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
January 24, 2022State Representatives Jillian Gilchrest (D-West Hartford) and Matt Blumenthal (D-Stamford, Darien), Co-Chairs of the newly formed Reproductive Rights Caucus, hosted a press conference in recognition of the 49th anniversary of the landmark Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade, which legalizes abortion and protects a woman's right to choose how they wish to handle their reproductive health.
Relief Program Available for CT Essential Workers Impacted by COVID-19
January 10, 2022The Connecticut Essential Workers COVID-19 Assistance Fund is now up and running. It was authorized by the legislature in June for the purpose of easing the financial burden on essential workers who became ill and were unable to work, or died, between March 10, 2020 and July 20, 2021.
