Local businesses are at the heart of every community in Connecticut, but sadly over the past year, they have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

We are quickly approaching the end of the 2021 legislative session. Other than Monday, which we had off for Memorial Day, the House was in session every day this week. We will also be in session on Saturday, as well as next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

This week, the House convened for three days of session and a heavily contested zoning bill came up for debate and a vote yesterday.

With the passage of a pivotal and amended zoning bill that will update Connecticut's zoning processes, Representative Aimee Berger-Girvalo (D-Ridgefield) advocated for her constituents and pushed for continued local control in zoning decisions.

In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's new guidance, the Governor announced yesterday that Connecticut residents who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to wear a mask indoors beginning next Wednesday, May 19.
