Bridgeport’s plan to become the first U.S. city to establish a municipal low-temperature thermal heating district has taken a giant leap forward, following passage of Connecticut’s bipartisan state budget.

Connecticut families, currently on the waitlist, can start enrolling in the Care 4 Kids program, the state’s primary child care support program.

Sterling House is an incredible asset to our community, serving young people with athletic programs, pre-school and after school programs. The state provides two grants for the Sterling House project.

Now is the time to start thinking about applying for heating assistance. We are only a month or so away from cold weather.  If you are eligible for home heating assistance, this program is here to help you and your family stay warm.

The state House of Representatives took a significant step toward solving the state’s fiscal crisis by securing a crucial piece of the budget puzzle – ratifying a concessions deal that is expected to save taxpayers $1.5 billion over the next two years.

I testified at a DOT hearing on the proposal to improve traffic flow in Stratford and Milford at Exit 33. A full interchange at exit 33 will ease traffic in in Devon and Stratford and lead to a spike in economic development in the area.
