Flags in Connecticut were lowered to half-staff in solidarity with Lewiston, Maine after the horrific loss of life, again at the hands of a gunman. It continues to break our hearts, as we in Connecticut prepare to mark the solemn 11th anniversary of Sandy Hook on December 14. 

When the filmmaker reached out to me a few months ago, I was immediately interested in learning more because we had a situation like the ones described in the documentary happen in Canton. I’m grateful we are showing the film at the Capitol to shine a light on the issue. Survivors need to feel comfortable reporting sexual assault without fear of being made the suspect.

On October 4, FEMA & the FCC will run a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System around 2:20 p.m. Your cell phones, TVs, and radios will be included in this test.
