Full-Body MRI Scan Helped Detect Cancer and Saved My Life
September 12, 2024Earlier this summer, I underwent surgery to remove a tumor on my kidney and repair an abdominal hernia. During the surgery, complications arose. Surgeons made an emergency decision to remove the entire kidney. The tumor that was removed, however, was cancerous. Thankfully it was caught at Stage 1. A full, cancer-free recovery is expected but my surgery was not the byproduct of doctors reacting to test results.

April is Financial Literacy Month
April 11, 2024April is Financial Literacy Month. Financial literacy is an empowerment tool and a foundational part of building a successful life. In 2023, the Connecticut General Assembly passed a bipartisan bill that requires students to complete a half-credit course in personal financial management and financial literacy in order to graduate from Connecticut public high schools. It also adds personal financial management and financial literacy to the state’s required program of instruction for public schools.
