The CT League of Conservation Voters held an Environmental Summit recently that brought together stakeholders from across the state to discuss a number of environmental issues.

Thank you to the CT Police Chiefs Association for this recognition of my efforts to enhance law enforcement. I believe all of them deserve an award - especially Fairfield's own Deputy Chief Christopher Lyddy and Chief Gary MacNamara.

Connecticut has many assets: human, natural and capital. How well diverse sectors work together to maximize those assets for job creation and economic opportunity will determine the future of our state.

Burr Mansion in Fairfield Center was included among the twelve towns throughout Connecticut approved to receive funding under the state's Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP), which assists with infrastructure improvement projects.

The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters gave Rep. Cristin McCarthy Vahey 100% on their 2015 environmental scorecard for her perfect record of supporting key pieces of environmental legislation this session.

Rep. McCarthy Vahey joined parent and student advocates, the Governor and Lt. Governor and legislative colleagues in a signing ceremony at the state capitol for a bill which she co-sponsored to help Students with Dyslexia.

Governor Malloy has signed legislation on expanding bicycle safety and green transportation alternatives introduced in the 2015 Connecticut Legislative Session. Rep. Cristin McCarthy Vahey joined fellow legislators and advocates to champion transportation and safety alternatives which received overwhelming bipartisan support in the legislature.

Rep. McCarthy Vahey joined fellow bike and pedestrian advocates on a 40-mile trip from New Haven to Hartford in support of Senate Bill 502 concerning bicycling safety and transportation options in Connecticut.
