I am pleased to see SB 455, An Act Concerning Minority Teacher Recruitment and Retention passed the House of Representatives unanimously and now goes to the Governor for signing.

A bill, championed by the Bridgeport legislative delegation, that would permit and implement an open and competitive Request for Proposal process for private or tribal entities to bid for a qualification to develop, manage and operate a casino gaming facility in Connecticut passed the state House of Representatives.

Brandon McGee and I, are extremely thrilled to see our CT Dreamers' dream closer to reality after House passage of Senate Bill 4, An Act Assisting Students without Legal Immigration Status with the Cost of College, giving students access to a pool of money that they have already paid into. Following is our statement.

A portion of the district I represent (Bridgeport’s 128), has been nominated by the governor as one of 72 opportunity zones – a new federal program available to qualified census tracts and that’s good news. But I am also advocating to have the Hollow area added to the nominations list.

The state House of Representatives took a step on April 19 toward closing the gender wage gap and ensuring women earn equal pay for equal work by passing House Bill 5386.

Bridgeport is slated to receive $3.1 million in supplemental car tax reimbursement money after our Bridgeport legislative delegation fought to secure the release of the funds from the state Office of Policy and Management.
