Time is running out to pass important legislation before our deadline on Wednesday at midnight. The House and Senate have been in session regularly as we try to amend, debate, and vote on important bills.

A pair of local summer camps received state funds for new learning opportunities over the next two summers.

I am proud to co-sponsor House Bill 5917, which implements the recommendations of the Vision Zero Council to make roads safer for drivers and pedestrians alike. This bill passed the House of Representatives this week, and it addresses the spike in roadway fatalities in our state.

Trinity College is celebrating 200 years since the school opened in Hartford, and we raised Trinity’s flag at the State Capitol – the college’s original campus.

We need to get a serious cleanup underway for Piper Brook, which flows through Hartford and West Hartford. This green space is overrun with trash, plastics, and an invasive plant species.

As a State Representative, who is Puerto Rican and serves Hartford as well as West Hartford, I was honored to be part of the unveiling of the Puerto Rican parades and festivals at the Legislative Office Building.

It’s been an invigorating week as I met some amazing people all around Hartford and West Hartford. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to hear your stories, and having the opportunity to thank you for your continued support as your State Representative.

One of my priorities as your state representative is to be transparent and accessible. I will strive to answer all your questions and personally address any of your concerns in the 6th district. I am inviting you to meet me in person, and you have several opportunities to do so.
