I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous day. Spring is in the air. Today’s e-mail has some updates, information about COVID, as usual, and a request of all of you.

As we continue to face the pandemic, many of us are what I call soul weary. Earlier this week, I came across a really helpful tool that can help us manage stress by “reaching in” and “reaching out.”

I wanted to give you an update about this week’s work in the legislature, the latest news about vaccine timelines, work from some of our amazing local activists, and information about how to sign up for the Fairfield Public Library’ One Book One Town event.

On Monday I joined the Fairfield League of Women Voters and the Fairfield delegation to record a conversation on the legislative session.

I am thrilled that this Monday’s Government Administration and Elections Committee (GAE) hearing at 10:30 a.m. will allow us to hear your testimony on HJ 58 and HJ 59 for Early Voting and No Excuse Absentee balloting.

You probably heard that Governor Lamont announced yesterday the big news: those who are 65 and older can begin making vaccine appointments this Thursday, February 11th.

As the legislative session gets into full swing, committee hearings, meetings with advocates and calls with constituents are the order of the day.
