Earlier today while at a meeting with our superintendent, he shared that years ago a fellow educator told him July is like Saturday and August is like Sunday.

Today the General Assembly met in a special session and voted to extend Connecticut’s emergency declarations.

I hope this finds you happy and healthy after this brutal heat wave we experienced this week. July 1 is a meaningful day - the beginning of our fiscal year, the day many laws take effect, and personally the day my husband and I became parents.

A year ago, I was writing regularly with information about masks, social distance, and unemployment insurance information. Today, I wanted to share some important changes for those who are receiving unemployment benefits.

For 100 years, the Connecticut state law that governs zoning, statute 8-2, has outlined what our municipalities must do, may do and may not do as they create their local zoning regulations.

With just a few weeks left in session, the pace continues to pick up here in Hartford. When the session began in January, approximately 3,000 bills were proposed, introduced by every legislator in the General Assembly, 151 in the House and 36 in the Senate.

Today is the day! In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's new guidance, the Governor announced that Connecticut residents who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to wear a mask indoors beginning today.
