After months of negotiation and hearing input from residents across our state, I am happy to pass along great news. Our state budget provides historic tax relief for parents, retirees, workers, and property owners.

The House passed a historic bipartisan bill aimed at addressing the immediate, intermediate and long-term needs of the children's mental and behavioral health system in Connecticut, a priority during the 2022 legislative session.

The solution to the I-95 noise problem will not be easy and will take more work. I am grateful for the work of the community group, specifically the Stop the Noise 95 group, the Riverside Association, and the Byram Neighborhood Association for their strong advocacy in our conversations with the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT). I want to personally thank the governor for his help and consideration of our efforts.

We passed an emergency-certification that will ease some of the financial burden on Connecticut residents and working families whose wallets and budgets have taken a hit due to rising gas prices and high inflation levels.

The House passed HB 5262, An Act Revising Certain Absentee Voting Eligibility Statutes, to make it easier for voters to vote absentee if they're feeling unwell, worried about their health, or out of town on Election Day.

The House just passed HB 5271 to extend the popular provision through next year and further allow restaurants the ability to safely rebuild their customer base.
