Protecting Mountain Dairy Farms

Mountain Dairy Farms, which has been run by ten generations of the Stearns family, conveyed the farm’s development rights to the state. More than 82 acres of the 243-year-old farm will be permanently protected and will be forever available for agricultural production under the state’s Farmland Preservation Program.

Awarded NARAL's Highest Honor

I want to thank NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut for honoring me with the 2015 Catherine Roraback award for my pro-choice leadership.

50 years ago, the Supreme Court struck down a Connecticut law outlawing contraception and it was Attorney Catherine Roraback who secured that victory for reproductive rights. It is a shocking and unfortunate fact that in the year 2015, we are still dealing with other states and a Congress that would like to ax funding for women’s healthcare and prevent access to contraception. We must remain vigilant as these fights move to the Supreme Court.

New Nelton Court Housing Opens in Hartford's North End

I was very pleased to have joined Housing Authority of the City of Hartford (HACH) Executive Director Annette Sanderson and Chair of the Board of Commissioners Marilyn E. Rossetti joined U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Field Office Director Suzanne C. Piacentini along with other officials for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Nelton Court low income public housing development in the North End of Hartford.
