I was amazed by the operation that YMCA Camp Sloper has in place after touring the facility and observing its programming on one of the busiest days of the summer. The highlight of the visit was presenting the grant check to campers.

This week, I had the opportunity to tour Southington’s LiveWell facility on the corner of South Main and Mulberry Streets, which is committed to redefining life with dementia and helping people and their families who are impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.

My colleagues and I delivered on our promise to lower taxes, and according to a report from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Connecticut is a leader on tax relief by providing nearly $500 million in relief for individuals and families.

During the 2023 Legislative Session, I worked with my colleagues to pass a new two-year state budget that stands up for consumers, including a freeze of scheduled increases on the diesel tax, which helps lower the price of groceries and other commodities while reducing the cost of doing business in Connecticut.

It was great to go door to door in the 81st District and visit with so many residents, listen to their concerns, and share details from the 2023 Legislative Session.
