As many families struggle with the challenges of COVID-19, Access Health has opened enrollment for those with a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) defined as, "A change in your life — like losing health coverage, getting married, having a baby or moving to Connecticut..." This includes the loss of a job and health insurance because of the pandemic.

Today’s note has a lot of information, so bear with me on the length. Some good news and some not so good news.

By now you have likely heard that Fairfield has been placed on the state’s Red Alert list. Fairfield and 18 other towns are at red and 22 communities are now at orange.

At today’s press briefing, Governor Lamont shared the news that our state's case positivity rate continues to increase.

Last week the Legislature held a special session, our second since the regular session was adjourned due to COVID. Two of the bills we passed, that I was proud to support, are highlighted below.

I hope this finds you well as we continue to move forward in this time of COVID. I was in New Jersey for a family event yesterday and the sign on the highway said, “Wash Hands, Wear a Mask and Maintain Distance.”

As the COVID positivity rate remains above 1%, lets remember the steps we can take to stop the spread of the virus.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, a day to hold all those impacted by suicide in our hearts. I am particularly thinking of the survivors of suicide here in our own community.
