Every year it is my honor to host the Manufacturer ConneCTion Fair, which brings together manufacturers from across our state and connects them with the brightest minds of the next generation of innovators.
I think we had our best one yet this year as I introduced the first ever college career and internship fair, which featured on-the-spot interviews for internships and jobs.
I loved chatting with Cheshire students and their robotics team!
This year's manufacturer fair attracted over 1,100 high school students exploring a career in manufacturing, more than 115 students from 17 different colleges participating in interviews with 50 Connecticut manufacturers and organizations looking to connect with the young talent, and seven robotics teams showing what they are capable of.
Every year, I am inspired and amazed by the quality and capabilities of our students. Connecticut’s workforce is defined by our excellence in manufacturing, and these ambitious students make me so excited for the future of this flourishing industry.
Thank you to all of the amazing stakeholders and sponsors who played such an important role in this event, including the General Assembly's Manufacturing Caucus, ReadyCT, the Advanced Manufacturing Employer Partnership, CONNSTEP, and the Connecticut Office of Manufacturing. I can't wait to see what next year's fair looks like!
