With all the talk about the increase in Eversource and UI bills, it amazes me that no one is addressing the elephant in the room. Here are my questions for Eversource that I think need to be answered immediately:
Why did Eversource choose to apply the fee over a period of 10 months, rather than 2 years?
Is this a coordinated attempt to use public outrage to their benefit to push out Gillett at PURA?
Is it a coincidence that this follows Eversource's refusal to provide the $500M in investment in EV and grid support?
Why is Eversource pointing fingers, intent on focusing the source of this fee on the moratorium, when in reality, more than 70% of this fee is from purchasing power from the Millstone power plant, in a taxpayer bailout bill, which I voted against in 2017.
And finally, and perhaps most importantly…
If Eversource truly needed to recoup these fees over a period of 10 months, rather than almost 2 years, is this an indication that Eversource is either financially in trouble or mismanaged, even though the CEO still received an additional $8 million in bonuses in addition to his $10 million salary?
