Happy Friday, everyone. It’s been a few days and I’m betting you haven’t missed me with my daily COVID updates.

Today I participated in a conference call with Secretary of the State Denise Merrill. While many of you may already be aware, I wanted to be certain you had access to information about our August 11th Presidential Primary.

Yesterday in my e-blast, I shared a phrase I have been using, which is we may be done with the virus, but it is not done with us.

As your elected State Representative, it is my duty to work for justice, to address structural barriers and assure the freedom of the press.

As we begin to re-enter society more regularly, it is going to be critical to use what one public health expert I heard from this week calls the “big three.”

Another evening e-mail from me. I look forward to the day when there is not so much COVID related information for me to send out to you. But for now, I will continue to get resources and information in your hands as best I can.

I hope you were able to have some restorative moments during this Memorial Day weekend. I also hope that you are continuing to practice safe social distancing (6 feet), vigorous hand and face hygiene and mask wearing when out in public.

For many years, I have marked Memorial Day like many of you, with neighborhood gatherings, barbecues and sometimes a visit to the beach.
