On this week's Rollin' with Rep. Nolan, I'm talking about one of my proposed bills: HB 6126 - An Act Establishing a Civil Penalty for a Municipality's Failure to Meet the Threshold for the Affordable Housing Appeals Procedure.

We have a law on the books that communities must meet a 10% threshold for affordable housing, and yet some have failed to or even refused to meet this threshold.

This bill enacts a civil penalty for not adhering to this threshold, ensuring we do our part to build enough affordable housing for all residents who need it. I hope you'll take a look at the video below.

Veterans – I'm reaching out with an invitation to an important public hearing hosted by the Veterans' and Military Affairs Committee on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 11:30 a.m. in Room 1C of the LOB, with virtual access via Zoom and YouTube Live.

There will also be a FREE tour of the CT Legislative Office Building and the Capitol at 9:15 a.m.

Black History Month is a time to honor and celebrate the achievements, contributions, and resilience of Black individuals throughout history and in our communities today. Let’s reflect, learn, and continue striving for equity and justice for all. As we celebrate in this month - always remember Black History is everyday not just the month.

Happy Lunar New Year! 2025 marks the Year of the Snake, symbolizing wisdom, intuition, and transformation. May this year bring clarity, growth, and prosperity to all who celebrate.

Last week we "The Juvenile Justice Oversight Committee" met to vote on the first recommendations for 2025. It was so great to see so many on the same page to improve data, outcomes, and needed change for the youth throughout Connecticut. Thank you all for you great service to make a difference.

I recently had the great opportunity to stand with the CT Coalition to End Homelessness, advocates and colleagues in regards to everyone having access to housing and services

Thank you to all the advocates, homeless services providers, and community partners who traveled from all across the state to join us. We must continue to raise awareness and fight for improved funding to combat the need to ensure everyone has help & Housing needs met.
